Application: Veterinary – Ovulation induction, Endometriosis Induction of Ovulation and Fertilization in Animals
Mechanism:
Alarelin is a synthetic LH-RH agonist. In the test of rat hypophyseal stimulation of gonadotropin secretion in vivo and in vitro and in the ovulation induction test, its biological activity is dozens of times higher than that of LH-RH. Several activities have been described, like induction of ovulation.
Studies have shown Alarelin to act on the gonadotrophin cells to influence the differential synthesis, storage and secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). It is a decapeptide that triggers a cascade of events leading to ovulation in mammals and is being used extensively in breeding programs to control ovarian follicle development in cattle.
